What people say

"Valletta, the capital city of Malta is an absolute must when visiting the island. Filled with culture, views, traditions, bars and restaurants. Valletta is beautiful to visit at any time of the day just be wary of a lot of tourists and busy streets. During the day there are shops, gardens (the Upper and Lower Barrakka Gardens) and museum explaining Malta’s amazing history. Valletta is also home to the famous St John’s Co Cathedral which holds the original Caravaggio painting “Beheading of St.John the Baptist”. As for bars and restaurants in Valletta, there is always an atmosphere wherever you go and you can go to places with more of a high end setting or a casual setting, therefore, Valletta is perfect for any occasion. At night, Valletta is great for a bit of a pub crawl where you can start off with sundowners and work your way to a nice restaurant serving the cuisine you’re looking for and perhaps finishing off in a bar with live music. Time in Valletta is a must! "
"Despite its small size, Malta’s capital, Valletta, has been recognized as one of the world’s most concentrated historic districts by UNESCO. This is evidenced by the beautiful buildings and ancient fortifications from the 16th century that can be found within Valletta’s walls. Time spent wandering the Grand Harbour’s winding alleys and busy side streets will be time well spent. The Malta Experience should be the first stop on any first-time visitor’s itinerary. It gives you a great overview of Malta and its capital city in about half an hour. It’s a primer on the past and present of a place you have yet to visit."
"Valletta is the tiny capital of the Mediterranean island nation of Malta. The walled city was established in the 1500s on a peninsula by the Knights of St. John, a Roman Catholic order. It’s known for museums, palaces and grand churches. "
