"Nas is a special beach located about 6km west of Armenistis in Ikaria.
It's like a time capsule, preserving the charm of ancient times.
This place is where the Chalares River meets the Aegean Sea and once hosted one of Ikaria's earliest settlements.
Back in the 6th century BC, the Ikarians built a temple for the Goddess Artemis, who looked after sailors and wild animals.
While only the temple's foundation and some ancient harbor walls remain visible today, the natural beauty of Nas has endured through the ages.
The beach is welcoming to both nudists and non-nudists. If you take a hike up the riverbed, you'll discover a small waterfall and pool.
Perched on the cliff above the beach, there are peaceful tavernas serving local cuisine, along with rooms for rent that offer breathtaking views of the canyon, sea, and the stunning Nas sunset – considered the best on the island and one of the most beautiful in the Aegean.
The name "Nas" comes from the Latin word for a temple, which in Greek is "naos.""
