The Archaeological Museum of Agios Kirykos is in the main town of the island and is inside the Old Gymnasium of Agios Kirykos.
This building is really special and is considered a masterpiece of neoclassical architecture from 1925. It has unique features like gables, stucco, a marble staircase that leads to the main entrance, and a large front yard.
Originally, it was built by Ikarian expatriates from America, but it has been completely renovated recently.
Inside, on the first floor, you'll find showrooms with the Archaeological collection and occasional exhibitions.
The collection holds artifacts from the Archaic and Classical periods, such as pots, jars, tools, coins, and utensils discovered in excavations around the area, including the ancient city of Drakano and from shipwrecks.
The ground floor has administrative facilities, a conservation laboratory for artifacts, and other modern amenities."
