"Porta Portese is Rome’s largest flea market, held every Sunday morning in the Trastevere neighborhood. It’s a treasure trove for bargain hunters, offering everything from antiques to second-hand clothing.
What to Expect: The market stretches for kilometers, with stalls selling a wide range of goods including vintage clothing, records, books, furniture, and bric-a-brac. It’s a lively and chaotic place, perfect for those who enjoy the thrill of the hunt.
Tip: Be prepared to haggle, as bargaining is expected here. Also, watch out for pickpockets, as the market can get very crowded. Arrive early for the best finds, as the market winds down by early afternoon."

"The Porta Portese gate is a historical landmark in Rome, situated in the Trastevere neighborhood. Built in the mid-17th century by Pope Urban VIII, it replaced an earlier gate called Porta Portuensis. Designed by Vincenzo Maculani, Porta Portese features a central archway with a rounded top, flanked by two imposing square towers. The exterior is clad in travertine marble and adorned with the papal coat of arms of Urban VIII. "

"Every Sunday morning, Porta Portese flea market happens in Rome. This historical market is said to be the biggest in Europe and you will be able to find all sorts of things, from vintage clothing, to kitchenware to old books and knick knacks. I recommend coming on the earlier side to avoid crowds and find the best deals. My favorit area is the one around Via Angelo Bargoni and Piazza Ippolito Nievo"
