"If you are shopping, go to Galeries Lafayette. This iconic department store is known for its vast selection of luxurious brands and local designers. In recent years they have also introduced second-hand shops selling a mix of high-end and local items. Architecture: The building’s stunning Art Nouveau style architecture is unmissable. The grand central dome is covered in intricate stained glass. The surrounding galleries are filled with ornate ironwork and beautiful mosaics. During seasonal times such as Christmas, the store’s decorations are aptly over-the-top. Food: There are a variety of food options for every taste. Pick from the gourmet restaurants or casual cafes serving cuisines from around the world. Free Views: Take the stairs from the 6th floor to the rooftop terrace. Here, there is a rooftop bar and restaurant where you can enjoy a meal with a view or walk through to the terrace for panoramic views of Paris. It gets busy closer to sunset as many people try to get their photos in the soft light. Experiences: Throughout the year, the department store hosts various events, including fashion shows, exhibitions, macron making classes and guided heritage tours. Be sure to book ahead through their website if you want to attend any of these events. The English version of the guided tours are on Sundays."

"It has been a Paris icon since it was established in 1912. If Galerie Vivienne is a petit boutique, then Galeries Lafayette is the opposite. Composed of three buildings that house over 3,500 brands, one of the original founders of the store declared he dreamed of creating a luxury bazaar, and that’s exactly what he did. Parisians and tourists alike flock here for the best clothes shopping in Paris. Even if you’re not a big shopper, it’s worth paying a visit. The store is famous for its dome designed in the Art Nouveau style. On the 7th and final floor of the Coupole building, there’s a large viewing terrace that offers great views of the city."

Inside, you can wander through multiple floors filled with designer boutiques, soak in breathtaking views from the rooftop terrace, and treat yourself to gourmet delights at the various dining spots scattered throughout this stunning building."
