What people say
Wiktoria Górska-Kijanka
"The Charles Bridge, built under King Charles IV from 1357 and completed in the early 15th century, replaced the Old Judith Bridge, which was damaged in 1342. Initially known as the Stone Bridge, it was renamed Charles Bridge in 1870. The bridge is 10 meters wide and 516 meters long, featuring sixteen arches and three towers: Old Town Bridge Tower and two on the Lesser Quarter side. It’s adorned with thirty statues, mostly Baroque, though originals have been replaced with copies."
