What people say

"Winter, Spring, Summer, or Fall, this place is one of my favorites. I love get into Bellagio mid-morning, wander south, maybe stop for a coffee at the Lido (if it is the season), and then wander to Villa Melzi Gardens. For me, this is the epitome of lingering. I set the alarm on my i-watch for lunchtime, buy a day pass, and wander... getting lost in daydreams and hidden zen ponds on my way to lunch on the opposite side. Make sure you hold onto your ticket so you can walk back through the garden. This beautiful estate has a fascinating past, dating back to the early 19th century. It was built by Francesco Melzi d'Eril, a close friend and advisor to Napoleon Bonaparte. The villa's stunning gardens were designed by Luigi Canonica, a renowned architect, and artist of his time. Today, visitors can still marvel at the villa's historic architecture and stroll through the lush gardens, home to various exotic plants and trees. If you haven't yet visited Villa Melzi, it's worth adding to your list of must-see destinations in Bellagio."
"A stroll around Villa Melzi gardens is definitely one of the best things to do when you are in Bellagio. The villa is open from March to October and the entry price is €8.00. Opening times: 10am - 7pm (last admission to visit the park is at 6pm.). Open all days. HOW TO GET to Villa Melzi Take the public boat to Bellagio and there you can get to Villa Melzi in 15 minutes walking from the pier."
"Villa, museum and 19th century English-style garden imbued with Italian elegance. Lush and vibrant colours, especially in summer and autumn. Grounds are dotted with Neo-Classical statuary and architectural features. Walkable from Bellagio "
