"This 13 mile trek is perhaps the most iconic trek in all of Patagonia. The trail will take you from the welcome center through Ascencio Valley, along the Ascencio River, before starting an uphill climb, ending with about a mile of a climb across a rocky moraine, before you reach the famous lake at the base of the torre. This hike is not for the faint of heart, but it’s doable as an all day hike. If you are not driving, I recommend booking a tour to do the hike. You will not be required to hike with your guide, but they will be there if you need help. Make sure you pack enough water and food. There is a refugio in Ascencio Valley, but it is not always open, so you don’t want to depend on that. This trail is 100% a must-do in the park if you are up for it. "
"Mirador Base Las Torres is one of the most iconic viewpoints in Torres del Paine National Park. From this breathtaking vantage point, visitors are treated to an awe-inspiring view of the park’s famous granite towers—Las Torres, which rise dramatically against the sky. The viewpoint offers a stunning panorama of the surrounding valleys and glacial lakes, with the towers often reflected in the pristine waters below. A challenging hike leads to this spectacular spot, rewarding trekkers with an unforgettable experience and a striking glimpse of Patagonia’s rugged natural beauty."
"Hike to Mirador Base Torres (Torres del Paine) 1. Bus from Puerto Natales to Laguna Amarga (2 hours) 2. Shuttle bus from Laguna Amarga to Welcome Center (15-20 min) 3. Hike from Camping Central via Refugio Chileno to Torres del Paine (8-10 hours) 4. Comeback to Puerto Natales (2-3 hours) Hike: 8-10 hours, 20km, 900m elevation gain (round trip)"
