L&B Spumoni Gardens

"Ask any old-timer from South Brooklyn where their favorite pizza is, and odds are L&B Spumoni Gardens in Bensonhurst will come up. It's a bit of a hike from Manhattan, but if you want a real Brooklyn experience with locals, I highly recommend it. They are known for their Sicilian Square slices ($4.00). This is an upside down slice, so the sauce is on top! They originated this style in New York. You can specify what type of slice you want. I prefer a middle, but some of my friends like a corner to have more crust. If you have more appetite, consider ordering one of their namesake Spumonis for desert (made with three ice cream flavors: pistachio, almond and chocolate). This place is such a "New York" vibe on weekends. "
