"The Avala Tower near Belgrade is a prominent telecommunications tower and one of the country's most iconic landmarks. Standing at a height of 204 meters (669 feet), it was originally constructed in 1965 but was destroyed during the NATO bombing of Yugoslavia in 1999.
The tower was rebuilt and reopened to the public in 2010. Besides its primary function as a TV and radio broadcasting tower, the Avala Tower also serves as an observation deck and tourist attraction.
A hike in Avala is a great opportunity for a day tour, mainly if you are not willing to go somewhere far from Belgrade. This hike can be done during the winter as well.
During the summer and spring, many locals go to the area around the tower to have a picnic with their families or friends. It's a nice place to spend a day in nature near Belgrade.
When to go: All year round."
