One of my favorite cities in the world, you either love or hate it. I reccomend booking a tour with a local on your first day to really get an understanding of the city. If you just pass by as a day trip, you might not get it and not love it. I would spend at least 2 nights in Naples and I’m sure you will fall in love!

I've spent the last 18 months investigating some of the best pizzas around the globe. It's a pretty serious study in the magic combination of dough, sauce, and cheese. From Top 50 contenders, to local spots in California, to where I grew up on the South Side of Chicago, I'm sharing some of the best slices in my book. And no, you won't see a deep dish slice on this list...tavern style all the way when you're in Chicago.

If the pizza is on this list, it's good pizza. If it has 5 🍕, then it is an exceptional pizza.

50 Kalò

50 Kalò is a popular pizzeria located in the Chiaia neighborhood of Naples. The restaurant is known for its high-quality ingredients and traditional Neapolitan pizza-making techniques. The menu features a variety of pizza options, including classic Margherita and Marinara pizzas, as well as more creative variations like the 'Nduja e Burrata pizza. In addition to the pizza, 50 Kalò also offers a selection of antipasti, salads, and desserts. The restaurant has a modern, stylish interior and a lively atmosphere, making it a great place to visit for a fun night out.

Technically, in the adjacent Mergellina neighborhood, this is either a long walk or a short taxi drive from Chiaia -- worth it, because I think it's the very best pizza in Naples. They don't take reservations, but don't be dismayed when you're told to wait outside among the motorini parked against the sidewalk -- you'll experience the best people-watching in Naples, plus the line moves quickly. 

A pizzeria in the Mergellina district that serves superlative thin-crust pies, made using the highest-​quality ingredients, with just the right amount of Neapolitan attitude.

Right near the waterfront, its earned a reputation among locals as a great spot for pizza and wine. It is a little pricier but the extra euros goes a long way.

From a famous pizza making family, Ciro is one of my favorites. This location is at the far side of town and always crowded. I adored his fried pizza as well.

Hot tip - arrive right before the restaurant opens at 7:30 to ensure you'll get a table! There are no reservations and the lines are long every night.
