Nally Preseault
"Most beaches in Iceland are black, thanks to the volcanic lava flow that created them. Búða Beach is a rare white-sand beach. When you reach Búðir, you'll pass its picturesque black church, moss-covered lava fields, and wind-blown sea grass to reach this little patch of sand. It's dotted with black rocks. Glacier-capped Snæfellsjökull is behind you. Strong waves--this is not a swimming beach--are in front of you. A few curious seals may even be lounging on the sand. It's a perfect spot for a picnic on a warm summer day."
