"Markthalle Neun is one of Berlin’s last remaining historic market halls, which opened its door again in 2011. This followed severe damage during World War II which caused it to close for many years, whilst restoration took place. Also known as the ‘Railroad Market Hall’ due to its location in the iconic bohemian district of Kreuzberg, it offers a wide range of street food stalls, delis, market goods and cafes.
The grand hall’s design is stunning, with its green beams and high ceilings which are decorated with festoon lighting and bunting. The space is always bustling and is the perfect place to embark on a culinary adventure and discover an array of Berlin’s best independent food stalls.
The cosmopolitan market is highly regarded in the Berlin food scene and offers a fantastic opportunity to try out some local dishes as well as experimenting with some more diverse options, whilst soaking up the Berlin culture in what is regarded by some to be one of the coolest neighbourhoods in the world!
A wonderful way to experience the market is to create your own food crawl and try small bites from each of the local artisan sellers, which spike your interest. During my visit I picked up some dumplings and bao buns from Bao Gao Club, which I would highly recommend! If you are visiting on a Thursday evening, they host what’s known as ‘Street Food Thursday’ from 17:00 – 22:00, which offers a platform for small start-ups to showcase their various specialities from all over the world!
The market is home to a vast array of vendors, serving up a wide variety of regional cuisines and seasonal dishes to meet every individual palette, there’s so much choice it’s almost impossible not to find something you love here! "

"Es el típico mercado que venden un poco de todo. Pero si quieren probar cosas típicas, y están para almorzar al paso y barato es una gran opción. Si quieren probar comida tipica pídanse un Currywrust.
Los jueves a la noche se arma tremendo street food market y está muy recomendado. "
