"Paris is a city full of surprises, and one of them is Girafe, a chic and elegant restaurant located in the Cité de l’Architecture, a museum dedicated to architecture and urban planning. Girafe is not only a feast for the palate, but also for the eyes, as it offers a panoramic view of the iconic Eiffel Tower from its terrace and dining room. I visited Girafe on a Saturday night, and I was impressed by the stylish décor, inspired by the 1930s. The restaurant has a cream-colored theme, with cozy banquettes, a marble bar, tropical plants, and original pilasters. The atmosphere is refined and sophisticated, but also relaxed and friendly. The menu at Girafe is focused on seafood and fish, sourced from the French coast. You can choose from a variety of dishes, such as oysters, ceviche, sashimi, lobster, sole, turbot, and more. The prices are on the high end, but the quality and presentation are worth it. I opted for the lobster linguine, which was cooked to perfection, with a rich and flavorful sauce. The portion was generous, and the pasta was al dente. The lobster was tender and juicy, and the cherry tomatoes and basil added a touch of freshness. For dessert, I indulged in the chocolate cake, which was moist and decadent, with a crunchy praline base and a smooth chocolate cream. It was served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, which balanced the sweetness of the cake. It was a heavenly way to end the meal. The service at Girafe was impeccable, attentive, and professional. The staff was courteous and helpful, and they made sure that I had everything I needed. They also gave me some recommendations on what to order, and they were spot on. The highlight of the night, of course, was the view of the Eiffel Tower, which was lit up in different colors. It was a magical sight, and I felt like I was in a movie. I enjoyed watching the tower sparkle every hour, and I took some amazing photos. It was a memorable experience, and I highly recommend Girafe to anyone who wants to treat themselves to a special night in Paris."
"Located on the 9th floor of the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine in the heart of the capital’s 16th District, this great address for Parisian gourmet cuisine benefits from a superb terrace offering a panoramic view of the Eiffel Tower and the capital. Designed by architect Joseph Dirand in a 1930s style, the restaurant is tastefully decorated with cream-coloured banquettes rubbing shoulders with an elegant marble bar and luxuriant tropical plants. Chef Benoît Dargère’s refined seafood and fish-based cuisine is prepared and served in a range of styles from classical fresh platters to succulent Peruvian-style “ceviche” dishes. "Girafe has one of the most spectacular views of the Eiffel Tower, day or night. While the menu is a bit more sophisticated, serving up caviar and champagne, it is still a great place for the kids. There’s always something to watch from the terrace, including artists, performers, and of course the Eiffel Tower light show Avery hour at night. I would recommend getting a reservation a few weeks in advance for lunch and ordering shareables, so you can break up the day of walking."
