"The Little Cupcake Bakeshop specialise in creating insanely good classic American desserts and have earned themselves the title of one of the ‘cutest corner bakeries in Manhattan’. They launched in 2005 in Brooklyn and now have three locations including what used to be my local, their Prince Street Bakeshop. Priding themselves on creating a business model that works for people and the planet, they only use the most sustainable and freshest ingredients sourced from local farms. When I first discovered the shop, I thought I had walked into dessert heaven, surrounded by glowing glass cabinets filled with their ginormous layered cakes, gooey cookies, divine cupcakes and more. Their baking is carried out in small batches every day to ensure pure quality and freshness in every one of their dreamy delights. There’s a lot of choice but for me it’s all about their five-star layer cakes. A slice of their famous “Brooklyn Blackout Cake” has to be one of the best I’ve tried in NYC and their “Southern Red Velvet” and “Birthday” cakes can’t be ignored either. Baking up some of the most fabulous sweet treats the neighbourhood has to offer, it’s the perfect after dinner spot to indulge your sweet tooth."
