"Broome is a remote town, 2050 kilometers from Perth and it had to be the highlight of my trip if everything went like planned. Spoiler alert: nothings went like planned but that gives me a reason to go back to this incredible place.
1. Visit the Staircase to the moon. ❤️
The Staircase to the Moon is a natural phenomenon that can be seen in Broome, Western Australia, which happens between March and late October when a full moon rises over the exposed tidal flats of Roebuck Bay. Although I planned all my itinerary around this event i didn't make it as our van broke down in Karijini. Still this is really something that is high on my bucket list so don't skip it and let me know how much you enjoyed it.
.
2. Watch a movie at worlds oldest movie outdoor cinema SUN PICTURES. Don't choke on your popcorn. The cinema is located just by the airport, so the planes almost literally fly over your head, an attraction in itself.
.
3. Spend a day at Cable beach and go for a sunset camel tour when the night falls.
.
4. Meet the charming snubfin dolphin, the original dolphin hipster! With its irresistible smirk and nonchalant attitude, this dolphin is the epitome of cool. With a snout that looks like it just hit the oceanwall, it's always ready for a selfie. And don't even get me started on its fashion sense - rocking the latest in seaweed accessories, this dolphin effortlessly turns heads wherever it goes. But don't be fooled by its cool exterior, because this snubfin dolphin has a heart as big as the ocean, always bringing laughter and joy to anyone lucky enough to admire its fabulous presence. So book an ecotour and get ready to have a fin-tastic time with the classiest dolphin in town! The only town in Australia btw where you can admire these beauties.

5. Relax at Town Beach, with its turquoise blue waters off Roebuck Bay. This is also the site of the Thursday Night Markets featuring a range of food stalls and various market stalls. The Broome town beach markets are held every Thursday from June till September, with an additional night during the Staircase to the Moon.
.
6. Search for dinosaur footprints, seek out hidden rock pools, or just admire the incredible views on the fascinating Gantheaume Point. If you scramble down you find the hidden rock pool to take a refreshing dip. Be careful as freak waves can overflow the area and strong currents can occur. The tide need to be high enough for the rock pool to fill up and enter and take your insta-grammable picture.
.
7. Escape the ordinary and visit Australia's most remote brewery, Matso's Brewery, famous for their ginger beer however they have a ton of brewery specials that are sure to please for those feeling something a little more adventurous. On Tuesday nights they have ‘Jam Night’ with a live band and it’s also an opportunity for any traveling musicians to get up on stage and prove their skills and on Sunday afternoons throughout the dry season (April – October) they have Sunday sessions with DJ’s in the afternoons in our beer garden.
.
8. Visit a pearl farm for which Broome is famous
.
9. Coconut Well is just a small drive out of Broome and offers "private pool" opportunities (not so private as it is a popular thing to do for locals). The landscape transforms with the tides. The best way to see them is at low tide as the rocky landscape reveals itself and hundred of private rock pools reveal themselves.
At high tides, the entire lagoon fills up with ocean water. A popular activity during spring tides is the “float,” where people take their noodles and let the tide float them along a natural lagoon. Note: Make sure to enter coconut wells in your gps ( just pin it on the map as it will normally take the coconut well road automatically and this is not the entry point for the lagoon).
.
10. Broome, the getaway to the Kimberley and a must do for those who drive a 4WD, unfortunately we didn't drive a 4X4 but there are still some possibilities to see the area. One thing from the Kimberley area that also was high on my list was the not so cheap horizontal falls, but not possible due to the well known "I got stuck in Karijini" problem. I linked the tour for those who are lucky enough. Who doesn't want to ride a sea plane over and a boat ride through the horizontal falls ?
Have fun !! "
