"The temple, located in the Rong Suea Ten community of the Rim Kok subdistrict in Chiang Rai, is renowned for its unique and stunning artistic features. It was restored by Phutta Kabkaew, also known as "Sala Nok," a local artist and student of the famous Chalermchai Kositpipat. The temple stands out due to its application of beautiful blue tones and intricate stucco work, which gives it a distinct aesthetic that sets it apart from other temples in the area.
The Ubosot (ordination hall) of the temple is particularly noteworthy, not only for its remarkable design but also for the murals that adorn its walls. These murals depict the life of the Buddha, adding a spiritual and educational aspect to the temple’s visual appeal. Inside the Ubosot is the grand Phra Phuttha Ratchamongkhon Bodi Trailok Nak, a majestic Buddha image standing 6.5 meters tall with a lap width of 5 meters. This image is particularly revered for its symbolic representation of the "auspicious majestic Buddha of the three worlds."
A notable feature of the Buddha image is that it contains 88,000 smaller Phra Rot Lamphun images, as well as rings of gold and silver and various valuable items buried beneath it. The head of the Buddha also houses relics of the Buddha, which were bestowed by Somdet Phra Sangharaja Chao Kromma Luang Vajirananasamvara, the Supreme Patriarch of Thailand. The combination of artistic beauty and sacred relics makes this temple a significant spiritual and cultural site in Chiang Rai."

"Blue temple is located on the north edge of the city. I found it easy and nice to take a walk there from the accommodation, although it was about an hour walk one way. Other option would be a scooter, taxi or grab. I did not see any bus option going there.
Blue temple is free, just make sure you dress accordingly. Some parts such as museum is paid for (50bath if I remember correctly) but overall you can enjoy majority of the complex for free. "

"Another beautiful temple in Thailand. The Blue Temple has no entrance fee, and is open from 7 am to 8 pm every day.
Visitors are requested to be dressed appropriately upon entering the temples, dress code is casual but shoulders and knees must be covered to visit sacred sites, temples, and pagodas."
