"This stop on the Blyde River Canyon is known for its three sections on the edge of the mountain named the Three Rondavals. The word “Rondavals” comes from a traditional South African home. These homes are known for their round structure & pointed roofs & are typically made from sticks, mud & rocks. In traditional Zulu culture a man can have as many wives as he can afford. In the family structure each wife has her own home, the older children have one to share (one for boys & one for girls) & the husband his. When you stop at this beautiful lookout point, notice how the mountains have formed over millions of years to resemble these homes."
