"At the heart of San Diego's dining scene, you'll find Born and Raised, a gem known far and wide for its superior steaks, inventive cocktails, and a chic ambiance that's hard to rival.
Walking into Born and Raised, you'll notice the restaurant is neatly bifurcated into two distinct areas: the refined main dining room at the lower level, and the laid-back rooftop bar perched above. Downstairs, you're enveloped in an air of sophistication with dark mahogany tables, comfortable leather chairs, and a striking marble bar that screams elegance. Upstairs, however, it's all about letting loose. Complete with a pool table, fire pits, and an awe-inspiring cityscape view, the rooftop bar is an urban haven in its own right.
Both locals and tourists flock to Born and Raised, making it one of San Diego's most beloved eateries. Given its popularity, it's wise to secure a reservation ahead of time. Open for dinner from Tuesday to Sunday, the bar serves patrons into the wee hours.
In terms of libations, Born and Raised's cocktails are nothing short of masterful. The menu is a mix of timeless classics and unique house specials, all crafted by skilled mixologists. Each drink, carefully composed of top-tier ingredients, is priced reasonably, making the experience all the more enjoyable.
The real showstopper at Born and Raised, however, is the steak. Sourced from local farms, the restaurant's beef is a testament to the exquisite culinary craftsmanship. Cooked just right, every steak is an unforgettable encounter. And if steaks aren't your thing, the menu also caters to other palates with offerings of seafood, pasta, and salads.
Sure, Born and Raised might lean towards the higher end of the price spectrum, with steaks ranging from $45 to $75 and cocktails from $12 to $18. But the unforgettable culinary experience makes every penny well spent.
In summary, Born and Raised isn't just another restaurant in San Diego—it's a culinary journey that's worth embarking on. Whether it's a special occasion or just a catch-up with friends, you're in for delicious food, imaginative drinks, and a classy atmosphere. Can't recommend it enough!"

"What is the best place to go for a special occasion in San Diego? That is a tough question, one that I have been asked many times. There are tons of phenomenal restaurants in San Diego, but I’ve never been so impressed, well taken care of, and stuffed, than I have been at Born and Raised Steakhouse in Little Italy. Set in the 1920’s with table side preparation, old school classics, and stiff cocktails, Born and Raised is part show and complete excellence.

"This is an incredible steak restaurant and the beautiful space almost overshadows the delicious food. A bit pricey but well worth it!"
