It offers breathtaking panoramic views of t he city and the surrounding areas. Visitors can enjoy sweeping vistas of the city, the Saône and Rhône rivers, and the Alps in the distance (on a good day). It's a popular spot for both tourists and locals to take in the stunning scenery.
My tip: Get there before sunrise to catch the best sunrise spot and just sit there - admiring the sun rising over Lyon's skyline and the Alps (if you're lucky).
Photo tip to avoid the crowds: Don't head towards the main viewpoint, head towards the right side of the building, on Pl. du Cloître de Fourvière Street, go all the way back and you'll get a similar viewpoint with less crowds - see attached GPS Coordinates"
