"The "Passerelle St-Georges" (lit. St George Bridge) is a famous landmark in Lyon. It was completed in 1853 and consists of a 87-meter bridge suspended by cables fixed to masts anchored in the two piers located 10 meters from the banks.
On September 1st, 1944, the Germans blew up the footbridge and had to be completely rebuilt after the war.
