"Zion National Park is located in Utah and is approximately a 3 hour drive from Las Vegas. Even though it’s a far drive for a day trip, Zion National Park is absolutely worth it! Once you arrive at Zion National Park you’ll receive an information guide to start planning your day. If you’re looking to drive through Zion and stop at some lookouts, then the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway is for you! During your drive you'll travel through the iconic Zion-Mt. Carmel Tunnel. Once arriving on the East side of the tunnel you can chose to hike the Canyon Overlook Trail. If you are planning to drive through Zion National Park this is the only road where vehicles are permitted. If you are going to spend the day exploring Zion National Park beyond the Zion-Mount Carmel Highway, there is a park operated shuttle that will take you through the rest of the Park. We chose to drive the highway for a quick detour during our drive back to Calgary, Alberta. We spent about 2 hours driving along the highway and stopping at the viewpoints. However, you could easily spend an entire day or more exploring everything that Zion has to offer."

"Start your Utah Mighty 5 Road Trip adventure at Zion National Park! Here's how we recommend spending 2.5 days in the park. Of course, more details are listed in each of the locations pinned in this guide! Day 2: Rent an e-bike or take the shuttle to explore Zion Canyon. Day 3:Take a short sunrise hike to the Watchman followed by a water hike adventure in the Narrows Day 4: Depart Zion NP via the Zion scenic drive and a spectacular sunrise hike on the Canyon Overlook trail. Note: If you have a permit for Angels Landing, spend one day of this itinerary doing that. You can simply swap it out for any of the other days listed in. this itinerary. Or, if you're the high energy type, add it to Day 2's activities on this itinerary. "
"We started our trip list, early in the morning we started driving along the Valley of Fire, where you can be fascinated and surprised by the colors of the landscapes and the loneliness of the road. Attention: we lost an hour because of the Time Zone! Back on the I-15 we got to the Zion National Park and we kept driving through the park, while stopping to take pictures and to observe the nature. We drove through Mount Carmel Highway Tunnel and the Kolob Canyons scenic drive. There are a lot of characteristic shops, restaurants and nice spots along the drive. "

Follow this itinerary for an incredible, ultra-detailed 1-week road trip in some of the most beautiful landscapes in America. Complete with hike recommendations & drive times, you'll visit all 5 Utah National Parks (Arches, Canyonlands, Capital Reef, Bryce Canyon, & Zion), plus some bonus State Parks along the way. No hike is the same and there is lots to see, so grab your camera, hiking boots, favorite road trip snacks, and get ready for an amazing adventure! This trip was planned for a week in mid-November but could be adapted for any 7 day travel window, making minor adjustments in timing and apparel for each season, or even extended at the beginning or end for time in Salt Lake City and/or Las Vegas. In addition to seasonal differences, note that many schedules are built around specific sunrise and sunset times. Be sure to check the times for both and make adjustments for your own trip. This itinerary requires a car to travel between each destination. 🧳Trip summary Day 1 - Fly in + Dead Horse Point State Park Day 2 - Arches Day 3 - Canyonlands + Capitol Reef Day 4 - Capitol Reef Day 5 - Bryce Canyon + Zion Day 6 - Zion Day 7 - Zion + Fly out Why this guide? 📒 Hyper-detailed itinerary. Special call outs for combo tickets to bundle and save will also be included where available! 🧾 Location-specific packing list. Unless you booked a one way ticket (jealous!), you've only got a limited time to explore. The suggested itinerary includes my opinions of the best choices for first time visitors with general interest. Feel free to swap those out with any of the honorable mentions. ✨ And finally... If you are looking for a more tailored experience with a unique twist based on your interests, travel dates, and more, a custom itinerary may be best.
