The Hague is the heart of democracy and the city of peace. It is a beautiful city between Amsterdam and Rotterdam and definitly a place to visit! The Hague is a very old city, the Buitenhof was built in the 12th century. In the 14th century more people came and houses and churches were built. Since 1913, The Hague is the city for peace, as the Peace Palace got built in 1907 and was completed in 1913. Since today, it houses the International Court of Justice (which is the principal judicial body of the United Nations), the Permanent Court of Arbitration (PCA), The Hague Academy of International Law and the Peace Palace Library.
