"🤿 You can spot the Japanese Wreck easily—it's right in front of Kawi Karma Beach Cottages & Restaurant and marked by one or two black buoys. The wreck is fragmented into multiple sections. The initial parts of the wreck are submerged in just 15 to 20 meters from the shoreline, in shallow waters. However, the bow of the ship is situated approximately 50-60 meters away from the shore. The Japanese Wreck rests on a seabed ranging from 6 to 60 feet (2 to 20 meters) deep, but it generally rises 3 to 18 feet (1 to 6 meters) above the water's surface.
🐠 The Japanese Wreck is among Bali's top shallow wrecks and holds historical significance as a Japanese patrol boat that got stranded on the Balinese coast during World War II. As you snorkel above this structure adorned with various hard and soft corals, you'll have the opportunity to observe a multitude of reef fish like trumpetfish, cardinalfish, bannerfish, surgeonfish, damselfish, and butterflyfish.
🚫 Be careful with waves when the condition is rough and be mindful of the busy boat traffic in the area while you're there. Don’t touch or harm the animals or the reef – you are in their habitat, protect and respect it.
👫🏾 Always swim, snorkeling/ freedive with a buddy. "

"Another famous spot for snorkeling in Amed and you can go straight from the beach. The shipwreck is very close and so you can just hop in and enjoy the corals and fish around there."
