What people say

"Housed on the site of a former gas works, this large cultural centre hosts cutting-edge art exhibitions and theatre and music performances. Retain-ing some of the original industrial buildings, including one of the gas holders, the complex has a retro feel. Warehouses and former machine workshops have been transformed into unique events venues including a 300-seat amphitheatre. Take a theatrical walking tour with an actor and experience the stories of people who worked on the gas production line from 1850 to the present day. Part of the complex includes the Industrial Gas Museum, which relates the city’s industrial heritage and features the work of contemporary industrial designers. Another small museum is devoted to the opera singer Maria Callas, who lived in this area of Athens for several years."
"Technopolis City of Athens has become a hub of cultural events, thus upgrading a historic area of the capital and creating another focal point in the cultural identity of Athens. A wide variety of cultural events are held in Technopolis every year: music, dance, theatre and performing arts, plastic and applied arts, educational programs for children, entrepreneurship and temporary exhibitions, attracting over 1,000,000 people annually.
