"Ribeira do Inferno, born in Paul da Serra at around 1530 m above sea level, runs through the municipality of São Vicente, in a deep and tight valley, flanked by steep slopes, from 349m at the downstream end to 1237m upstream. The banks are made up of the Montado dos Pessegueiros slope, on the left bank and Monte do Espigão, on the right bank. This river converges between Ladeira da Vinha and Fajã do Rente on the way from São Vicente to Seixal, delimiting the municipality at the western end", thus serving as a geographical separation line between the municipalities of São Vicente and Porto Moniz."
