"Located around 45 minutes away from the city center of Athens, the recently established Ellinikon Experience Park replaced the abandoned facilities of the old airport of Athens to offer a breath of fresh air in the heart of the city, in the area of Elliniko.
It is one of the biggest urban renewal projects implemented in Athens, and it is designed to become a cultural center a few steps away from the coastline of Athens.
The park’s modern facilities offer a wide variety of activities for visitors of every age; Mediterranean gardens, fountains, shops, playgrounds for children and outdoor fitness facilities are currently available and the park can be approached by car, taxi or public transport."

"If you're searching for a park specifically for your kids, this is definitely where you need to be heading!
This park is the newest on the list and is still being continuously added to, but it is already a great place to spend the afternoon!
Parking and entry are free. There are bathrooms, drinking fountains, and cafe's available. The children's playground is an artful masterpiece, and the splash pad is perfect for the hot Greek sun!
There are also walking paths, picnic spots, paved areas for skating or biking, and outdoor gym equipment.
Be sure to stay for the sunset, then enjoy park lights after dark! "
