Trippy Tour Guide
"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCwfvpw6BpM 12.35 - 14.05 Text to include -  This windmill dates back to 1622. In 1814, at the end of the Napoleonic wars, Cossack soldiers invaded Montmartre and laid siege to this windmill and the surrounding area At the time of the invasion, the windmill was surrounded by land that was owned by the Debray family. They defended it fiercely, which sadly ended with Pierre-Charles Debray being killed, chopped up, and nailed to the four blades of the windmill. The surrounding area was nowhere near as built up at the time, there would have been more fields and shacks, rather than the many tall buildings we see today. It would therefore have been easy for the people of Montmartre to see this gruesome sight. The warning was clear - anybody who fought back would be punished. Directions at the end, Turn your back on the windmill and cross the road to walk on Rue Tholozè"
"Standing as one of the last surviving windmills in the neighborhood, it is a charming and historic landmark that harks back to Montmartre's rural past."
