"Many legends of this region take place in the mysterious forests, where eerie occurrences abound. Among these tales are those of the will-o'-the-wisps, ghostly lights that lure travelers into danger. One particularly haunting story tells of a Frenchman who met his end because of these lights. While riding through the forest, his horse was spooked by a wisp and bolted into a nearby swamp. The treacherous ground gave way, and both horse and rider were swallowed by the mire. Years later, locals discovered the skeletons of the man and his horse, along with weapons, still half-buried in the swamp. The tale stands as a warning to those who might be tempted to follow the flickering lights, for they can lead to a watery grave"
