"Petřín is a hill almost 140 metres high, located very close to Prague Castle, and built on the site of former vineyards that have now been converted in a maze of well-kept paths that will lead you around a splendid park. As we were in the New Town district, we took a walk along the Vltava River and crossed the Most Legií Bridge (Bridge of Legions), next to which you will find the magnificent Národní divadlo (National Theatre); however, it is also easily reached by a walk from the Strahov Monastery if you are in the castle area, and otherwise from Malá Strana by taking the funicular.
