"Seongsan Ilchulbong, or Sunrise Peak, is a stunning tuff cone that rises 180 meters from the sea, formed by ancient volcanic activity. Once an island, it's now connected to Jeju Island by sand and soil. The peak features a large crater, about 600 meters wide and 90 meters deep, and is surrounded by fields of silver grass. It’s a prime spot for sunrise views and panoramic sights of Udo Island, and was designated a natural reserve in 2000.
Even if you miss the sunrise at this UNESCO World Heritage site, the view is still magnificent. It’s a 1-hour hike to the peak so prepare to walk."

"Seongsan Ilchulbong Tuff Cone rose 180 meters above sea level due to a magma flow under the sea over 5,000 years ago. If you visit the summit you'll be able to see Udo Island !"

"Despite the bad weather, it was a pleasant hiking ! Really not that hard, with a breathtaking view. It must be greater with a good weather !"
