Step outside and you'll also find a medieval courtyard, home to a rock with four steps. This used to be a mounting stone, helping passengers board their stagecoaches. As for ghosts... there are plenty of them too! A group of Catholics used to gather in the pub for secret meetings, planning their escape to France. They've been known to rearrange chairs into a circle at night and relight the pubs fire."
