"Located in a natural area, Suomenlinna is an 18th-century sea fortress. Spread over six connected islands, it is characterized by ancient artillery pieces and defensive walls. Following the pedestrian paths that run through the park you can admire famous places such as the drawbridge of the Kuninkaanportti ('s door of the king') and the local museum, dedicated to the military and maritime history of the fort. It can be reached thanks to a boat that leaves from Helsinki, in Kauppatori in about 10 minutes. "
"The Suomenlinna Fortress spreads across a few linked islands and it’s one of the biggest sea fortress in the world 🌍 This area is easy to reach by hopping on a City Transport Ferry from the Market Square which operates all year round and the journey takes about 15 minutes ⛴ This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a perfect gateway from the hustle and bustle of Helsinki where you can enjoy coastal nature and learn about the history of Finland."

"Another must-do in Helsinki, spend a half day at the Suomenlinna island! You can get to the island using your metro card, as it is part of public transport. If you do not possess a metrocard, you can buy a ticket at the Helsinki harbour. Explore the island on your own, or join a tour of the island! "
