What people say

"Yelapa is a very fun day trip from Puerto Vallarta because it's only accessible by boat! The town has no cars, a couple waterfalls and a large (but busy) beach. It's a fun town to walk around for a couple hours and then enjoy an afternoon on the beach. How to get there: Option 1 - Boat roundtrip from Los Muertos Pier in PV (cost 400-450 MXN roundtrip). If you walk to the Pier, there will be many people offering you details. These boats only run at specific times of the day. Option 2 - Bus to town of Boca de Tomatlán (10 MXN each way) and then boat from Boca beach to Yelapa (240 MXN roundtrip). Much cheaper, more frequent boats and earlier boat times but less convenient than leaving from PV. "

" One of my favorite day trips in all of Mexico, was a boat trip from Puerto Vallarta to Yelapa. We went snorkeling, took a dip in the waterfall here and had some yummy food on this incredible beach. We saw dolphins along the boat and saw the sun set whilst dancing on the deck."
