"A hidden gem in the Georgetown area, designed in the 1920s by landscape architect Beatrix Farrand. This estate is famed for its terraced gardens, which feature ornate stonework, colorful blooms and serene water features across 10 acres.
Once owned by the Blisses, who donated the property, it’s now part of Harvard University. Each level is uniquely designed, with standout areas like the Rose Garden, Lovers’ Lane Pool and the Byzantine-inspired Pebble Garden.
A highlight is the expansive Orangery, where visitors can catch a breath surrounded by fragrant citrus trees. The gardens are popular, especially in spring.
Admission to Dumbarton Oaks Gardens is $10, which you can book online. Hours vary seasonally so check in advance, typically open from 2pm to 6pm Tuesday through Sunday from March through October."

The Gardens are open 2:00–6:00 p.m. (entry will be allowed until 5:30 p.m.), Tuesday–Sunday, except for federal holidays, and tickets are required ($11 + fee).
Street parking is available in the neighborhood. "
