"Mile Marker 32. This park is known for its stunning black sand beach, formed by volcanic lava flow, and its dramatic coastline of rugged lava rock cliffs and sea caves. In addition to the beach, Waianapanapa State Park offers several hiking trails that lead to stunning viewpoints overlooking the ocean. The park is also home to the famous Pa'iloa Beach Cave, a large lava tube that opens to the ocean. This park requires a RESERVATION made ahead of time. Please make this reservation using the website below. Make sure to pick a time slot later in the day (after lunchtime), as this is the second to last stop of the day. "
"YOU MUST MAKE ONLINE RESERVATIONS AHEAD OF TIME. There are limited entries per day and even for specific times of day. You will have access to the black sand beaches. For non-Hawaiian residents there is a $10 parking fee plus a $5 entry fee per person. "
"Black volcanic pebbly shores and turquoise tides make Waiʻānapanapa State Park one of the most gorgeous beaches in Maui. Better for photography than sunbathing"
