"WHERE TO PARK
1. Park in Chautauqua Park, but you need to pay.
2. Park along Baseline Road. It's free between Labor Day and Memorial Day.
3. Park in the residential neighborhoods on the north side of Baseline. Paid parking in the blocks near the park, but free if you go a little further.
4. Turn left onto 12th St from Baseline. Go to the top of the hill near the gazebo. There is free parking in a dirt lot.
THE TRAILHEAD
The trail begins in Chautauqua Park by the ranger station. Follow the Bluebell Hiking Trail until you reach the Bluebell Shelter. From there, follow the signs to the Royal Arch Trail.
DIFFICULTY LEVEL
This is an intermediate to difficult hike. There are several steep sections with lots of stairs and rocks to climb up. But it's worth it!
HIKING TIME
It took about 1.5 hours to reach the arch, and just under one hour to go back down."

"Next, head to the Chautauqua Park Trailhead for an epic 3.4-mile hike to the famous Royal Arch. Throughout this hike, you’ll gain almost 1,500 feet of elevation gain until you can rest at the top and enjoy the natural rock arch, and amazing views of the Flatirons.
After making your way back down, you could set up a picnic in the grassy meadows at the beginning of the trail.
There are restrooms and picnic tables available. It’s important to note, that it is a busy trail so if you are visiting during peak times or weekends, be prepared to be sharing the trail with a lot of others. There is a fee to park during the peak summer months."
