MacMillan Provincial Park

"Cathedral Grove, located within MacMillan Provincial Park, is one of Vancouver Island's most awe-inspiring natural wonders. This old-growth forest is home to towering Douglas firs and ancient cedars, some over 800 years old. The network of short, well-maintained trails winds through both sides of Highway 4, offering scenic viewpoints and interpretative signs about the forest's ecology. As you meander along the mix of accessible boardwalks and dirt trails, you walk among a dense, moss-covered landscape filled with ferns, lichen and fallen logs. This is a great place to stop on your way to Tofino and Ucluelet or when you return from there, as it is located closer to Port Alberni."
