"Visiting the Waimangu Volcanic Valley and looking down from the first vewipoint, will make you feel like being in Jurassic Park. A great view! It's a nice walk through this geothermal valley passing different volcanic craters, hot water springs, rare plants and in the end you arrive to Lake Rotomahana where you can go on a boat ride or walk to a view point. On the lake's shore there used to lay the White and Pink Terraces, famous silica formations before a big eruption happened in 1886. You can do a self-guided walk or choose on of the other options. There is a bus that runs through the valley so if you get tired, you can just take it back or to another stop instead of having to walk. I advise to allow at least 3 hours for this visit."

"Waitangu Volcanic Valley is the world’s largest hot spring. This unspoiled, protected area can be explored on your own or with a guide, who can help you maximize your experience (and maybe take a few nice photos for you)!"
"A beautiful geothermal walk. You can go kayaking on the steaming lake!"
