"Lagos de Montebello is a stunning collection of 59 different lakes, known for their array of striking colors. It’s very serene and calm here, not to mention gorgeous. Beside the more popular lakes you can order food and drink delicious hot chocolate made by locals. You can also pay extra to go out on wooden rafts to explore little islands. It’s truly enchanting. We visited as part of our tour from San Cristobal which also included visiting Chiflon waterfalls, all for about 300 pesos a person — well worth it!"

"Known for its stunning lakes, which vary in color from turquoise to emerald green. The park is home to a variety of flora and fauna, including howler monkeys, jaguars, and several species of birds. Spend the day exploring three or four of the lakes, take a tour on the rickety wooden 'balsas' and try the local dishes. "
