"The Point Reyes Lighthouse is a must-see for anyone exploring this section of the Northern California coastline. The lighthouse was built in 1870 to prevent ships from running into the Point Reyes peninsula, and it served it’s purpose for 105 years. It now offers a reminder of the history of the area. Enjoy views of the lighthouse from the observatiiion deck, and the stairs that led to the lighthouse (only open Saturdays and Sundays from 10-4)."
