"Jozani Forest is a natural treasure located in the heart of Zanzibar. This unique and biodiverse forest is a must-visit destination for nature lovers and those seeking a glimpse into the island's ecological wonders.
As the largest remaining area of indigenous forest on Zanzibar, Jozani Forest is home to a rich array of flora and fauna, including the iconic Zanzibar red colobus monkeys. These endangered primates, known for their vibrant red fur, can be observed swinging from tree to tree and providing delightful moments for visitors.
Exploring Jozani Forest allows you to immerse yourself in its enchanting ambiance. Follow the well-marked trails that wind through the dense vegetation, marvel at the towering trees, and listen to the harmonious sounds of birds and wildlife. The forest's tranquil atmosphere offers a welcome respite from the tropical heat.
Guided tours are available to enhance your experience and provide valuable insights into the forest's ecosystem. Knowledgeable guides will share fascinating facts about the flora and fauna, including medicinal plants used in traditional Zanzibari medicine.
Jozani Forest also boasts a unique feature called the "Mangrove Boardwalk." This wooden pathway allows you to traverse the mangrove forest, a crucial and fragile ecosystem that plays a vital role in protecting the coastline and supporting marine life.
Visiting Jozani Forest provides an opportunity to connect with nature, learn about the importance of conservation, and witness the beauty of Zanzibar's natural heritage. It's an experience that offers a delightful blend of adventure, education, and appreciation for the island's ecological diversity."

"The Jozani forest is part of the Jozani - Chwaka Bay National Park, Zanzibar's only National Park. It is also the largest untouched and pristine forest on the island.
It also has some really rare wildlife, such as the red colobus monkey. There are only 5000 individuals in the wild and you can't find them anywhere else in the world. You can also see other species of monkeys and small antelopes in Jozani.
Lastly, there's a beautiful mangrove forest in the park which is definitely worth visiting.
