"Tara Mountain, nestled in the western part of Serbia, offers a unique blend of lush forests, serene lakes, and rugged terrain, making it a perfect destination for hiking. The mountain is part of the Dinaric Alps and boasts diverse flora and fauna, including rare plant species and diverse wildlife.
The mountain has an extensive network of trails that will please hikers of all levels, ranging from less demanding walks to challenging treks. The paths are well-marked, and you'll encounter cascading waterfalls, ancient caves, and panoramic viewpoints that offer stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Some brown bears are in the area, but the chance of encountering one on the trail is minimal. They are afraid of humans, so when they sense us, they move away. However, you can safely watch them from designated feeding sites in the observatory in Tara.
The route I in the link is from a day hike during the winter. Tara is an excellent place for hiking in any season. Please experience hiking there in summer and winter. Both are magical experiences!!
When to go: All year round."
