The Dublin Guide

The Spire

Toppling at 120 meters tall, The Spire of Dublin is a large, stainless steel monument in Dublin. This was actually the winning entry in an architectural competition to replace Nelson’s Pillar (blown up in 1966). Fun Fact: This stick costed €4,000,000 to build.

The Spire has been built in 2003 in the place of the old famous Nelson's Pillar, that has been destroyed by a bomb in 1966.
It is also called Monument Of Light.

120m tapered steel column, symbol of the City. The area is full of Irish themed souvenir shops.

Walking through this street to get to the Spire is a wonderful experience.
