What people say

"FREE Entrance - Open daily from May to September (8 am to 7 pm). The park is located on Fourvière hill in Lyon's 5th district and offers panoramic views of the city's skyline, it almost feels like you're right on top of the city. If you're lucky you'll even see the Alps on the background ✨ 📍The entrance is located at the back of a car park (a bit hidden!). How to get there: 🥾You can walk up from the old town (about 15-20 min) - it's a bit of a work out as it's mostly stairs to get up the hill. 🚍 You can also take the C20 bus from St Alexandre Bus Stop at Place Bellecour (the red square). It only costs 2€ to take the bus if you pay for it in advance. ✨The most scenic & picturesque way to get there though (and our favorite way if we're being honest) is to take the funicular railway from the Old Town metro station to St-Just station or Fourvière station. Is just takes a few minute to get there and a few more minutes to walk to the park a little further down the slope. Bus tickets are valid on the funicular. 🚘 If you wish to drive to the park, there's a public car park located right before the Park's entrance (parking fees may apply). "
"The Garden of Curiosities, perched on a hill, offers not only a serene escape but also panoramic views of the city. Take in the picturesque sights and enjoy a tranquil stroll in this hidden gem."

Nestled in the heart of France, Lyon is known as the country's culinary capital. This city brims with life and a wealth of attractions waiting to be explored. While it ranks among France's most significant urban centers, two days are often sufficient to take in its many offerings. Lyon's unique charm stems from being traversed by two winding rivers, which bestow upon it a distinct allure. Multiple bridges gracefully connect the city's three main districts: the historic Old Town (Vieux Lyon), the peninsula known as Presqu'île, and the riverbanks on the right bank of the Rhône. For a short stay, it's advisable to choose accommodations as centrally located as possible, ensuring easy access to the city's primary points of interest. While Lyon is mostly walkable, do keep in mind that it encompasses several hilly areas, particularly the Fourvière Hill. For those less inclined to undertake the uphill journey on foot, there's a cable car service available to ascend the heights. Should you wish to extend your journey, Lyon harmoniously pairs with other destinations such as Paris, Dijon (and the Burgundy region), Geneva, and Annecy. Dive into this vibrant city where culinary expertise meets rich heritage, this city is a captivating blend of historical landmarks, vibrant neighborhoods, and a thriving cultural scene.
