What people say

"Like most places in Minca, you need to take a moto taxi to reach Casas Viejas. It is undoubtedly one of those places that leave a mark on your heart. It may feel remote from the town, but that's its charm. The journey there is completely magical, passing through streams, little waterfalls and The Victoria coffee farm, immersing you in the beauty of the Sierra Nevada. Casas Viejas offers both dorms and private rooms, a heated pool with an amazing view where you can enjoy the sounds of nature, and food prepared with love with a daily changing menu. You have the opportunity to walk to nearby waterfalls where you won't find crowds, and they offer activities such as massages and night walks to see jungle life after dark. Here, I feel it's a fantastic spot to meet other travelers and like-minded individuals without being a party hostel. Whether you prefer quiet solitude or mingling with others, it offers a great option for solo travelers or couples. Being higher up in the mountain, it can get a bit chilly at night, so I recommend bringing a sweater. "
"This hostel is truly lovely, with incredible views overlooking Minca's valley. Our room was spacious and had a delightful terrace with a hammock. The shining star of this hostel has to be the stunning views from the bar to the swimming pool and valley. Enjoying the sunset during the happy hour is just priceless. The food was good and the service was kind and attentive. "
"Book in advance — super popular and for good reason! Truly beautiful, remote mountainside hostel on a coffee farm. Infinity pool with views of Minca — sometimes even the ocean on a clear day. Delicious dining and excursions (hikes, bird watching, finca tours, etc.). The moto-taxi ride up is an adventure. Plan to be up the mountain for a majority of your stay. "
