Japan is a great travel destination with kids. Select hotels are very accommodating to children in terms of rooms, food, seating & bathrooms.
Transportation
We used all modes of transportation during our stay (bus, taxi, & train) and had no trouble getting around as a group of 3 adults and 2 children.
Please be aware that if your child is 12 years or older they require tickets or passes to ride public transportation. I recommend to obtain the kid's welcome suica card upon arrival. Our kids were under the age of that requirement, so it was not required.
We did however travel with one stroller. Manuvering the stroller around Tokyo was probably our biggest obstacle. Most stations have elevators, but they are difficult to find or far away. We often had to pick up the stroller to use the stairs.
Disney
Japan has 2 Disney parks located ouside of the city center of Tokyo. Disneyland and DisneySea. Disney sea is catered more for adults, but our kids enjoyed both parks equally. Park admissions range from $50-$70 USD per person. *Prices may have increased
