Lisbon: Top 5 Japanese restaurants
Omakase Wa

There are a lot, and I mean A LOT, of sushi places in Lisbon, but very few of them offer a true omakase experience. Among the very good ones sits Omakase Wa: with a 12 seat-counter, the freshest of fish and an inventive and skilled chef, this will be a night to remember.
Kanazawa

Kanazawa is a Michelin starred omakase with a chef trained in, you guessed it, Kanazawa. Chef Paulo Morais brings to the counter esquisite skill in fish-cutting, the tastiest of rices and an incredible selection of sake.
Nómada

While Kanazawa will provide you with a highly traditional experience, Nómada serves high-quality fusion sushi in a modern atmosphere, matching it with great cocktails.
Hachiko

Hachiko is run by Japanese chef and it’s hands down the most well executed and flavourful Japanese ramen in Lisbon. You don’t feel like eating ramen, because you came to Lisbon in the peak of summer and you’re melting? Fear not, their tonkatsu will also transport you to the home of a Japanese grandma with many culinary talents.
Izakaya

Technically this is outside of Lisbon, in this cute little town 45 min by train called Cascais, but it’s so worth the trip. Izakaya is a Japanese street food upscale restaurant. If you’re feeling adventurous, let them pick for you the dishes and enjoy one (or may) of their inventive cocktails.
