One-Two Full Days Guide to Florence: Exploring History and Must-See Attractions

Morning:
Start your day with a visit Basilica of Santa Croce, one of the most important Franciscan churches in Italy. This splendid church is the burial place of many prominent figures, including Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, and Niccolò Machiavelli. Entrance to the basilica costs approximately €8.
Then head to the iconic Florence Cathedral, also known as the Duomo. This magnificent structure dominates the city's skyline and is a testament to Florence's architectural grandeur. Admire the intricate details of the exterior and the iconic red dome, designed by Filippo Brunelleschi.
To enter the cathedral itself, no ticket is required. BUT! Queues are quite long, be ready to spend some time in it. However, if you wish to climb to the top of the dome for panoramic views of Florence, there is an entrance fee of approximately €18.
