Corvin Castle - Transylvania's Medieval Masterpiece
Things to know:
+ Tickets can be purchased online or at the castle entrance.
+ You ticket to Corvin Castle includes access to additional sites on the grounds (see below).
+ The castle has A LOT of steps and original (uneven) stone floors. If you have mobility difficulties, parts of the castle may be inaccessible for you.
+ While most of the castle is appropriate for guests of all ages, one section does have a warning label: the torture chamber. It is not recommended for children.
+ The castle is known by multiple names: Corvin's Castle, Castelul Corvinilor, Hunedoara Castle, and Hunyadi Castle.
+ It's not the easiest place to get to. There is no longer a train station near the castle. If you come by train, the closest stop is Deva. From there, you will need to take a bus, taxi, or rental car. Buses typically run from Deva to Hunedoara only twice a day. My personal recommendation is to rent a car, if only for a day or two, to explore the area with ease. I've included a rental car company in Deva and a place to park near the castle (see below).
